Broodmares

I have spent many years putting together my broodmares. I have assembled bloodlines which concentrate on the old time greats mixing speed, conformation, cow, versatility, and trainable minds. Some of my mares were shown and ridden extensively, and others were raised to be broodmares and have proven to be excellent producers.

I have a few mares in training and are showing some continuously. I spent the last 10 years involved with my daughters in Jr. Posse, High School Rodeos, Local Shows, and we had our own group of 4H Equestrians. My horses are used for:

- Reining

- Working Cowhorse

- Barrels

- Poles

- Driving

Horses in Field

My versatile pedigrees and horse conformation allow me, and folks I have sold foals to, to do about anything and everything with them. I also breed for the sometimes forgotten desirable traits, namely fertility, breeding ease, abundant milk production, and excellent natural mothers. I do not keep mares, regardless of show record, pedigree, or monetary value unless they meet all of the criteria we feel essential.

Please browse through the photos, descriptions, and pedigrees on my band of mares. Also check out the Renaissance page to see the foundation and what I am trying to breed for. Also note, I have added daughters of Macha Roany Music, out of some of my better producing mares. I will outcross these daughters to Long Lives Cowboys and others. Macha Roany Music has become a good broodmare sire among other things. I have been riding and showing some of his sons and daughters, and really love the results. I have had many positive comments from trainers and others that they are easy to start, very responsive, trainable, and very athletic, with lots of energy. After 12 years I am in now into the second phase of my program. I will continue to infuse bloodlines (out crossing) for a larger statured horse with heavier bone and muscle, more speed, and durability without losing the gorgeous heads and conformation, along with great dispositions we have been know for in the past. Along with the bloodlines represented in the Renaissance area, I will continue to love and use the genetics of Sonny Dee Bar, Tinky Poo, Pacific Bailey, Peppy San Badger, Coys Bonanza, Hollywood Gold, Driftwood, Skipper W, Lightning Bars, Vandy, Tonto Bars Hank, and of course the Hancocks: Blue Valentine, Hancock Revue, Roan Hancock, Red Man, Happy Hancock, Texas Blue Bonnet, and others.
